Norma L. Willman, 76, known as Pete, was born to William and Rose (Tannahill) Howard on March 23, 1931 in Kearney, Neb. She passed away on Sept. 30, 2007 in Crescent City.
She moved to California in 1941, and made her home in Del Norte County for 61 years. Norma retired from Del Norte School District in 1976.
She met Robert Willman and seven years year, in 1948, they were married at Memorial Hall. All their children were born in Del Norte County. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver and "Aunt Pete" to half of Del Norte County.
She enjoyed her dogs and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Willman, of Crescent City; daughter, Linda, and son-in-law, Wayne Boatman; son-in-law, Roger Keith; grandchildren Rick (Suzanne) Boatman, Amy Boatman, Ben (Shannon) Keith and Angela Keith; great-grandson Logan Keith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Howard; sister, Darlene Buxton and children Betty Ann Willman and Susan Keith.
Friends are invited for a Celebration of Life for "Pete" on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 1-4 p.m. at the family's home located at 4721 Lake Earl Drive, Crescent City.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Relay For Life, 1301 Northcrest Drive, Crescent City, CA 95531.
