Robert "Bob" Clyde Hunter passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2007, in Crescent City. He was born on June 8, 1928, in Ventura. He was a 35-year resident of Del Norte County and was a self-employed carpenter and rancher and had also been a truck driver. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Brookings and was also a volunteer fireman for the Fort Dick Fire Department. He enjoyed woodworking.
Mr. Hunter is survived by daughters, Linda Burwick of Paso Robles, Cathy Rubbo of Paso Robles, Byrd Mora of Fortuna; brother, Donald Hunter of Paso Robles; companion and best friend of 17 years, Bonnie Cushman of Crescent City; best friends, Henry Babich, Mark Robson, and Tim Sullivan, all of Fort Dick; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Hunter in 1965, daughter, Patricia "Teese" Jane Martinez in 2005, father, Elwin "Red" Hunter in 1989, and his mother, Esther Hunter in 1958.
The family requests contributions be made to the Fort Dick Fire Volunteer Department, P.O. Box 369, Fort Dick, CA, 95538. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 13. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at Wier's Mortuary Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
