Robert “Bobby” Allen of Crescent City passed away unexpectedly at the age of 49, on Feb. 18, 2011. He was born and raised in Crescent City. Bobby was humorous and often sarcastic, but that is why we loved him so much. You could always count on him for a good joke and to put a smile on your face.
He spent many years working in the logging industry for companies such as Three Star Logging, Marvin Burr Logging and C&L Logging. He then went on to drive truck for his family business Gus Allen Trucking. In his free time Bobby enjoyed golfing and hunting trips with his son James and close friends Jim and Kyle Loftin. He loved rooting for his favorite football team, the Minnesota Vikings, and spending Sundays with his mother Jeanne watching NASCAR.
He was preceded in death by his father Gus Allen and stepmother
Joanie Gardenhire. He is survived by his mother Jeanne Allen, his wife
of 22 years, Debbie, and children, James, Jennifer and Sarah Branton,
all of Crescent City, and Stephanie Kucek (husband Josh) of Modesto, his
brothers Vernon Burden, Dale Allen (wife Carla), Gussie Allen (Telina),
Donald Lowery (wife Shawna), C.J. Gardenhire (wife Barbara) and Bob
Heady, his sisters Chris Linton, Trisha Melvin (husband Grant), all of
Crescent City, and Katy Schulte (husband Mike) of Lexington, Neb.,
Debbie Smith (husband Sheldon) of Culver, Ore., and granddaughter
Tristyn Davidson of Crescent City, as well as many nieces, nephews and
friends who will miss him dearly.
A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held at the Fort Dick Grange
Hall on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 1 to 4 o’clock in the afternoon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Bobby Allen to
the Redwood Coast Junior Rodeo, 3555 Lake Earl Dr., Crescent City, CA
95531.
