Obituaries: Robert V. Strombaugh (1929-2007)

Robert V. Stombaugh of Twin Falls, Idaho, died April 13, 2007, in Seattle, Wash.

He was born in Twin Falls, June 17, 1929.

He was an avid fisherman and liked to play shuffleboard and pool. He was self employed for many years as a log and dump truck driver, and worked in Crescent City for many years driving trucks for Mitchell Brothers and local logging companies.

He moved away during the 1960s, but visited Crescent City every year for the past 15 years.

He was a World War II veteran, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the Eagles in Washington.

He is survived by his sister, Naomi (Bob) Auman of Onalaska, Wash., his daughter, Rebecca (Larry) Cavyell of Crescent City; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His best friends were Tim and Martha Parker of Wash.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Stombaugh and Mary Willis.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. July 14 in Pacific, Wash., at 160 Frontage Road N.

Arrangements and cremation were by Klontz Funeral in Auburn, Wash.
