Obituaries: Roger Eugene Snider (June 5, 1941 – May. 5, 2011)

Roger Eugene Snider, 69, passed away on May 5, 2011, in Eureka, Calif. A life-long resident of Del Norte County, he was born on June 5, 1941.

A Viet Nam veteran, he served for three years as a combat engineer. Roger was a life member of the local VFW.Post #1381. After returning from the service Roger was employed by Miller Rellium and Simpson Timber and was known to have good work ethics. For enjoyment Roger loved to bowl and duck hunt.

He is survived by his mother Juanita Snider; brother Rodney Snider, sisters and brothers-in-law Vicki and Jim Goodman, Lolita and John Hallock, all of Crescent City, and sister Maxine Russell of Wash.

Numerous nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his father Harvey Snider, brothers Bud, Joe and David Snider and sister Anita Snider.

Funeral services will be held at Wier’s Mortuary Chapel on Tuesday, May 10, at 1 p.m. with private interment at Del Norte County Veteran’s Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
