Obituaries: Shirley Jean Dailey(1941-2008)

Shirley Jean Dailey passed away April 29, 2008, at her home in Fort Dick. She was born on Morrilton, Ark., on July 6, 1941.

She lived with her former husband, Jerry McCortney, before coming to the Crescent City area.

Shirley worked as a home health nurse for a number of years and enjoyed taking care of people. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and had many friends.

She is survived by her husband Philip Dailey of Fort Dick; father Thomas Ramsey of Richmond; son Jerry McCortney of Las Vegas; daughter Lorri Tupman of Fort Dick; granddaughters Kayla, Cortney and Lorin Penner of Fort Dick; grandsons Cade and Connor Dailey of Murrieta, and Jack Thomas of Sacramento.

Shirley was preceded in death by her mother Cloyce Keathley, daughter Sherrine McCortney and former husband Jerry McCortney.

The family requests contributions be made in Shirley's memory to the Fort Dick Bible Church, 6725 Lake Earl Drive, Crescent City, CA 95531

Visitation will be held at Wier's Mortuary Chapel on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the IOOF Memorial Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. at the Fort Dick Bible Church. Family and friends are invited for a fellowship following services at the Fort Dick Church fellowship hall.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
