A six-year resident of Crescent City, he previously resided in several southern California cities, Florida, Delaware, Maryland, and his favorite place of all, Alaska.

He is survived by his sons, Vincent L. Bancroft Jr. of Ventura County, and Shawn P. Bancroft of Brevard County, Fla.; and his daughter, Rachel B. Hughes, Anchorage, Alaska.

He was preceded in death by a son, Scott T. Bancroft, Brevard County, Fla. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John, and his parents Clellon L. and Kathleen M. (O'Sullivan) Bancroft..

He is survived by his grandchildren, Vincent L. Bancroft III and Kristina Pearl Campbell, Ventura County; Michael C. Bancroft, Mesa, Ariz.; Elizabeth Hughes and Sara Shipp, Anchorage, Alaska; and Courtney and Casey Bancroft, Brevard County, Fla.

He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Joseph C. Bancroft, Mesa, Ariz., and Jacob V. Campbell, Ventura County.

He is also survived by his brothers, William and Daniel, and his sisters, Anne and Marita.

His final wishes were for cremation and a private memorial service followed by the scattering of his ashes on the banks of Montana Creek, Mile 96.5 of the Parks Hwy, near Talkeetna, Alaska. His ashes will be scattered during a family reunion in Alaska set for the one-year anniversary date of his death.

Arrangements were made through Wier's Mortuary, 408 G Street.
