Obituaries: Wendy Goggins (Otis) (Sept. 9, 1947 – July 17, 2011)

 Wendy Goggins of Tybee Island, passed away Sunday, July 17, at the age of 63, after a brief illness. At her bedside were her loving and devoted husband of 31 years, Ben Goggins, and her lifelong friend Gabe Cummings.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughters Jill Norwood of Hyattsville, Md., Michelle Hourihan of Ponte Vedra, Fla., and granddaughter Claire Norwood. Also left behind are her mother and two brothers, Julia, Butch, and Scott Otis of Smith River; and her aunt Faye Scott of Lolo, Mont.

Wendy attended Smith River School in grade school and was a Del Norte High School graduate. Wendy was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by friends and family throughout the world. Wendy loved her Roman Catholic faith. She made a difference in so many ways because of her efforts for peace and goodwill. Wendy was a great soul who walked upon this earth for far too brief a time. But her love, her unselfish sacrifice, her kindness, and the work of her hands and heart will live on in the lives of those she touched.
