Obituary: Al Christeson (Sept. 8 1930 – October 18, 2011) |
Al “Toots” Christeson was born on September 8, 1930, in Jefferson City, Mo., and died October 18, 2011, in Medford, Ore. He was an independent painting contractor. He was responsible for private and commercial properties such as Catholic cathedrals and Victorian homes in the Bay Area. Prior to his contractor business he was a Marine Corp drill instructor at Camp Pendleton, Calif. He served with Lt. Gen. Chesty Puller in the Korean War. He received several medals including the Purple Heart for his service to his country. He retired and moved to the North Coast. He is survived by his loving wife Nancy Carrell and their four dogs. They were married 34 years. He is survived by his sister-in-law Dr. Carol Carrell of Phoenix; nephews George “Butch” Kavorkian of Littleton, Colo., and Tim Kavorkian of Cleveland, Tenn. Great nieces Ali Kavorkian of Littleton, Calif., Athena Ogden of San Angelo, Texas, and great nephew Matt Kavorkian of Littleton, Colo., and great-great nieces Jayden and Josalyn Ogden of San Angelo, Texas. He will be deeply missed. Celebration of life services will be held at a later date. — Submitted by Family |
