Obituary: Annie Lucienne Depee (April 23, 1946 – Nov. 11, 2011)

Annie Lucienne Depee was granted her angel wings on November 11, 2011. Her final days were spent surrounded by family that Annie had touched lovingly throughout her very memorable life. Annie was born on April 23, 1946, in Paris, France, to William and Simone Nelson.

Annie’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her smile, love for her grandchildren and her non-selfish/giving ways brought so much joy to our family.

Although she endured many trials and tribulations throughout her life, she gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. She loved to watch over and spend time with her grandchildren. She could spend hours rocking in her favorite chair while cuddling close to those she loved so much. She enjoyed romantic movies and watching children’s shows with the grandkids.

Annie is survived by her loving children and grandchildren. She was loved by, and got to spend every day of the last years of her life with Deborah and Sekya Depee of Crescent City; Jamie, Mckenzy and Kayleb Fernandes of Crescent City; Larry, Angie, Gavin and Danny Depee of Crescent City.

Annie’s final resting place will be at the IOOF Memorial Cemetery alongside her mother, Simon Nelson, and granddaughter Stormi Depee.

Family funeral services were held on Monday, November 14, at Wier’s Mortuary Chapel.
