She grew up in Gasquet. Her parents, John and Florance, both preceded her in death. Barbara worked for DNAD a few years.
She loved her home and the animals who came to visit in her yard. Barbara liked being active and went swimming and bowling every week. She also went to the Glen Haven program, where she had many friends. Special friends were Nancy Patton, Betty Tekaat, Shirley Berry and Jim Macias. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at 680 E. Washington Blvd., Friday, Aug. 29, at 2:30 p.m.
Behind Their Eyes
You cannot help but wonder
The thoughts inside their minds,
Their face will show confusion
Of what lies behind their eyes.
Some are blessed by speaking
With words they can reveal,
While some have only expression,
Of the frustrations that they feel.
Their face can show you many things,
Their wants, how comes, and whys,
And how much they really comprehend
Stays hidden behind their eyes.
But one thing I need to remember
Through the battles they face in life.
I’ll learn to understand,
What lies behind their eyes.
