Betty was born October 5, 1935, to Boots and Edmund McClaran in Muskogee, Okla. She grew up in Bakersfield, Calif., and graduated from Bakersfield South High School in 1952. Surviving Betty are her sons Jim and his wife Jennifer and their two children Savanna Machelle Young and James Franklin Young, all of Connecticut. Her other son, Frank Young and his three children Rocky Dean Young, Emma-La-Jean Young and Thomas Jack Young, all of Crescent City.

Private interment will take place at the Del Norte County Veteran’s Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
