Brian W. Crider was born in Eureka, Calif., Nov. 16, 1947, to William and Eudora (Shields) Crider. He was raised in Carlotta, Calif., and graduated from Fortuna High in 1965. He then went on to have a very successful career with the United States Forest Service for 35 years. During his 35 years with the USFS he was often recognized and awarded for his outstanding efforts and accomplishments. In 1972 he married Henrietta Ann Crider of Arcata, Calif. From that point on Brian’s job took them to Gasquet, Calif., Libby, Mont., and Sitka, Alaska. Brian and family then retired to Grants Pass, Ore., in 2001.
Brian was an avid hunter, fisherman and most recently enjoyed restoring classic cars. Mr. Crider was a member of the Oregon Hunter’s Association, Josephine County Sportsman Association and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
Survivors include spouse Henrietta Ann Crider; daughter Kimberley Paige Crider; grandchild Kam Parker Crider; sister and brother-in-law Dawnetta and Ken Strong of Wash., niece and nephew Stacey and Cade Strong, also of Washington.
Private Memorial services will be held.
