Devoted husband father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A resident of Eureka, he was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mercedes (Whipple) Giovannetti, grandparents Delmar and Evelyn Whipple and Giacundo and Filede Giovannetti. Carlo was an enrolled Tolowa Dee-ni’ citizen of the Smith River Rancheria.
He is survived by his wife Pam Giovannetti of Eureka, his children, John Giovannetti, Kim Giovannetti (Frankie Hostler), Marci Williams (Matt) and Kelly McVay; grandchildren David Williams, Matt Williams, Tori Williams, Kortney Williams, Heather DeLosada, Nadine Starritt, Joseph Bowie, Jacob Bowie, David Hostler, Anthony Hostler and Theya Hostler; and great-grandchildren Elijah DeLosada and Cole Bettiga, all of Eureka.
He is also survived by his brother Dr. Joseph (Carla) Giovannetti, and his sister Marie (David) Chandler, his nephew Grant (Jessica) Giovannetti and niece Stephanie (Jeremiah) Kasinger, his great-nieces Aubriella and Preslea Giovannetti, and his great-nephew Preston Kasinger, all of Eureka.
He was also preceded in death by his great uncles Elmer Whipple, Louis Whipple, Charley Whipple, Andy Whipple, Jimmy Brown, Westford Brown, Andy Brown, great aunts Isabel (Whipple) Moorehead, Martha (Whipple) Downey, Ida (Whipple) Thornton, Edith (Whipple) Pomeroy.
He is also survived by his great aunts Elinor Richards of Smith River and Mabel Smith of Crescent City and many cousins.
Carlo was a descendent of Tolowa Dee-ni’ Howonquet headman Joseph (U-hosh-eth) and Lucinda (Dru-li-tra) Hostler. Carlo was a U.S. Army Vietnam combat veteran artilleryman. At Carlo’s request there will be no services.
