Chester Bighead, born April 20, 1954, in Arcata, Calif., left this world on Dec. 2, 2013, in Eureka, Calif. He was an explorer, an outdoorsy playboy who had many talents, like playing his famous air guitar and kung fu kicks.
Chet is survived by his only son, Chester Johnnie Bighead Jr.; grandchildren Chester Johnnie Bighead 3rd and Jazmyn Jayde-Deichay Bighead; sisters Charelen, Karen, Nora, Sandy and Lillie; brothers Raymond and Samuel. He also has numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by everyone.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Fain Bighead; parents Charlie and Marylou Bighead; brothers Luther and Charlie Bighead and nephew Allen Nuss.
A Memorial Wake will be held on Monday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. at the Shaker Indian Church in Smith River followed by a potluck. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 10 a.m. with burial at the Johnson’s Cemetery located on the Klamath River at Johnson, Calif.
