She is survived by her husband, Robert Emerson of Klamath; son Dewy Savel and daughter-in-law Linda of Oakley, Calif.; brother Darrel Spear of Redding, Calif., and sister Betty Willard of Corning, Calif.
Christine was born in Nebraska and lived in Texas for a long time. She was known for her love of children. She helped over 100 foster kids in her life, and many of them keep in touch. To know Chris at all was to love her. There was never a more loving person, and if there is a hell or heaven she is definitely up there with the angels. She did a lot for the Methodist Church in Klamath, the senior center in Klamath, and taught school in the Klamath River Early College of the Redwoods. She was also a foster grandparent. She and Robert did a lot of remodeling in the house in Klamath. She wanted a sewing room and he wanted a jacuzzi room. They got both.
Memorial services will be held at the Yurok Tribal Office community room at 190 Klamath Blvd., Klamath, Calif., Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 1 p.m. Potluck! Please bring your favorite dish to share.
