D.C. Crager passed away at his home in Crescent City on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at the age of 90 years old.
D.C. was born in Stateline, Miss., on March 13, 1923. It was there that he met his first wife, Sallie Revette, who preceded him in death in 1983. Together they raised six children.
D.C. worked briefly in Mobile, Ala., in the shipyards, where he learned his craft in welding. After moving his family to California in 1954, he started his career in the lumber mill industry as a millwright and welder. He retired at the age of 62 to enjoy his family.
D.C. is survived by his wife Antonia; sons Dewey Crager (Dianna), Chris Crager (Anette), daughters Charlotte Fleshman (Ron), Trudie Fleshman (Mike), Theresa Crager and Sandra Essex. D.C. had 19 grandchildren, multiple great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at the IOOF Memorial Cemetery in Crescent City on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 2 p.m.
