Debbie was born Aug. 14, 1956, to Jim and Shirley Conner in Mountain Home, Idaho, on the Air Force base where her father was stationed.
The oldest to three brothers, Debbie was a beautiful tomboy who loved to be outside, explore the beach and had an enormous love for all animals. She loved fishing and going on walks or rides on the “back roads.” Debbie was a wonderful mother to her three children: Amber, Billy and Jennifer, spending a lot of time with them exploring the beautiful area they lived in. Debbie met Ron Pruett in 1987, and in 1991 the family moved to Klamath where she spent a lot of time at the beach looking for shells and sand dollars. They later moved to Smith River, where Debbie worked at Ray’s Market in the bakery. Ronnie and Debbie were married at their home on Valentine’s Day 1994. They later moved to Hiouchi, and in 2001 back to Shingletown.
Debbie was a modern-day Snow White. All animals gravitated to her, and she nursed many abandoned animals back to health. Throughout the years Debbie had pets that were very special to her, most recently Buddy, Sparky, Mallory and Madison. She loved to collect beautiful things and had a passion for watching scary movies. She worked for Shingletown Market at the time of her passing and the whole town mourned her loss.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Shirley Conner. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Pruett of Shingletown, Calif.; her daughter Amber Lampley of Crescent City, her son Billy and his wife Miranda Lampley of Brookings, Ore., and her youngest daughter Jennifer and her wife Amber Lampley of Crescent City. She leaves her four grandchildren: Christian Cerros of Crescent City, Evangeline, Toby and Jacinda Lampley of Brookings, Ore.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Open Door Community Church, 33883 Highway 44, Shingletown, CA 96088. Potluck reception to follow.
“We love and miss you, Mom. We will see you again one day in Heaven!”
