Obituary: Delores F. Nova (Oct. 12, 1937 – Feb. 2, 2014)

Delores F. Nova, 76, passed away on February 2, 2014, in Medford, Ore. She was born October 12, 1937, in Hoopa, Calif. Delores (Babs) was a longtime resident of Klamath and Del Norte County. Her first job was that of a caregiver at a resident facility, but her pride and joy was being a stay-at-home mom. She was of the Karuk Tribe and a member of the Resighini Rancheria Tribe in Klamath. For 20 years, Delores was the best moral support a football coach could ask for.

She follows her late husband Lewis Nova Sr., whom she was married to for 52 years and still in love with to her last day. Delores is survived by her sons and daughter: Steven Nova of Klamath, Lewis Nova, Ricky Nova and Kim Nova all of Crescent City, Arnold Nova and Larry Nova both of Klamath. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Steven Jr., Daniel, Dalynn, Austin, Dylan, Melissa, Ricky Jr., Nakieda, Morek, Naquel and four great-grandchildren: Martin, Karlye, Aubry and Holdyn.

Graveside services will be held at Del Norte County Veteran’s Cemetery on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 11 a.m.
