Eliseo married Peggy Jo April 16, 1955, in Tacoma Wash.; shortly after marriage he was transferred to Fort Ord, Calif., where they would begin their family. During the next several years Eliseo would transfer within the United States and Germany until 1966 when they moved to Sacramento and Eliseo became the Sergeant Major in charge of the reserves prior to his retirement in 1972. In 1990 the family moved to Klamath because of Eliseo’s desire to become a C1 correctional officer at Pelican Bay State Prison, where he was highly respected by his peers and the inmates until his retirement in 2004. Eliseo had written the book, “Youth in War” and was in the process of writing a second book about “Revelations.” There were several years when Eliseo taught an after-school program at Bess Maxwell Elementary. Eliseo spoke seven languages and was most recently learning Hebrew.
Eliseo was a very driven man in his faith in God, work ethic, and his family. He took his family on annual camping trips with a military adventure. It was important to him that his children have the necessary survival skills, and camping trips were the best time to teach them. Eliseo loved playing baseball and basketball with his grandchildren. He was a practical joker and loved pranking people. He had a tremendous sense of humor.
