Obituary: Elizabeth “Betty” Mae Neiuber (Mar. 22, 1920 – May 22, 2012)

Elizabeth “Betty” Mae Neiuber, 92, of Montclair, Calif., loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away May 22, 2012, in Ontario, Calif. She was born March 22, 1920, in Chippewa Falls, Wis., to Edna Mae Hobart (Fuller) and Harry Hamilton Hobart. She graduated from Redgranite High School in 1939, and the Milwaukee School of Beauty Culture in 1941.

She married Harold Reynold Neiuber of Redgranite, Wis., a tool and die maker, and resided in Chino, Calif., for 30 years, where she was a homemaker. She was a charter member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Chino, Calif. She enjoyed retirement with her husband in Crescent City for 24 years until her husband’s death in 2003, one year shy of their 60th wedding anniversary.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Carol Carson and her granddaughter, Tina Lynn (Carson) Hepburn, both of Crescent City. She is survived by her daughter, Judith Neiuber of Upland, Calif., and her son, John Neiuber of Claremont, Calif., five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were private. Interment will be in the Del Norte County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Crescent City. Memorial gifts may be made to the Macular Degeneration Foundation, www.eyesight.org.
