Together they shared many experiences including owning a restaurant in Kingsburg and a resort on Clear Lake. For over 17 years, she lived in Klamath, where she devoted her time to being a housewife and mother and then spent her retirement in Crescent City for over 30 years.
She loved flower gardening and always had a beautiful yard. She enjoyed social dancing when she was younger. Ray loved to waltz her around the dance floor or even just a spur of the moment dance around the kitchen floor. In her younger years she could do a pretty wild jitterbug dance with her youngest brother, Virgil!
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Cathy Castanos and husband Steve of McKinleyville; grandchildren Ryan Castanos of McKinleyville, and Jessica Castanos of Fresno, Calif.; and her youngest sister, Betty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her parents; brothers, Herb, Ralph, Russ and Virgil Hoy; and sisters, Evelyn, Florence and Rose.
The family wishes to thank Timber Ridge Assisted Living in Eureka and Granada Nursing Home for their kindness in caring for Liz for the past three years. A special thank you to Hospice who provided so much guidance, help and compassion during the last 2½ years.
As per Liz’s request there will be no services. The family asks that from time to time you remember a good time you shared or think of her when you see a beautiful flower.
