Obituary: Faustino “Tom” Azevedo (Sept. 29, 1920 - Apr. 13, 2009)

Faustino “Tom” Azevedo (Sept. 29, 1920  - Apr. 13, 2009)

Faustino "Tom" Azevedo, 88, passed away on April 13, 2009 in Brookings, Ore. He was born on September 29, 1920 to Antonio & Maria Azevedo in Bakersfield, Calif. He was a long time resident of Del Norte making his home in Crescent City. Tom was a veteran during WW II having served with the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a commercial fisherman for over 20 years fishing from his boat "The Chiquita." Tom enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jennie Azevedo of Brookings, Ore.;  daughters, Sheila Kendig and Sharon Moore both of Bakersfield, Calif.; brothers, George Azevedo of Oregon and John Azevedo of Bakersfield, Calif.;  sister, Rose Souza of Oxnard, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren.

Private services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
