George "Cody" Houston Gray, Jr.

George "Cody" Houston Gray, Jr. passed away at his home on May 11, 2009 in Crescent City. Cody was born on July 7, 1954, in Los Angeles, Calif. and grew up in Hemet, Calif. While there, he partici-pated in the Boy Scouts of America program and attained Life Scout. He lettered as a freshman in varsity wrestling and after graduation from Hemet High School he attended Ricks College in Idaho. Because of his love for the outdoors, Cody chose the building field for his employment, becoming a successful welding and fabrication contractor for 30 years.

Cody had many talents which he enjoyed and shared with others. He could play many instruments and was learning to play the violin. At twelve years old he played the piano at church and brought many hours of pleasure to his family and friends as they listened to his renditions of popular and classical music. He attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cody's constant care for his family was demonstrated by his enthusiasm, kindness and hard work.

He is the loving husband of Patsy Gray and father of three children, Stetson and wife, Shellie of Culver, Ore.; Zane of Crescent City and his companion and love Destanee and their daughter, Taylor Gray of Crescent City; daughter, Montana Gray; his parents, Margie Gray of Hemet, Calif. and George and Krystyne Gray of Hemet, Calif., five brothers and sisters in laws, Scott and Ann Gray of Hemet, Calif.; Brad Gray of Hemet, Calif.; Dallas and Teresa Gray of Delta, Utah; Chris and Sara Francis of Orem, Utah; Dana and Tiffany Francis of Hemet, Calif.; five sisters and their husbands, Kelly and Brad Fisher of Hemet, Calif.; Holly and Brian Caskey of North Carolina; Heidi and Jamie Waller of Bonney Lake, Wash.; Jennifer and Josh Hill of San Diego, Calif.; and Laura and Ryan Stephens of Provo, Utah,

He was also loving uncle to 40 nieces & nephews; great uncle to 8 nieces & nephews; and had numerous uncles and aunts.

His mother-in-law, Joan Ray Grissom; brother-in-law, Tony Ray of Crescent City, Calif.; sister-in-law Kim Joyce of Crescent City, Calif.; nephew, Hunter McWilliams of Crescent City, Calif. Cody will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Wier's Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, May 14th from 9-5 PM

Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Friday, May 15 th at 10:00 AM with interment to follow at the IOOF Memorial Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel.
