Former Crescent City resident, George Norman Ziegler, 89, of Grants Pass, died on Monday, March 5, 2012.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 19, 2012, at Chapel of the Valley – L.B. Hall Funeral Home. Grants Pass Funeral Alternatives is handling arrangements.

He was born February 24, 1923 in Fisher, Wash., to Edward and Pearl
Ziegler. On September 16, 1942, in Carson, Wash., he married Leona
Fuller, who survives. In 1947, they moved to Crescent City, where he
owned and operated his own logging company in Del Norte County for many
years until his retirement. In 1986, he and his wife moved to Grants
Pass.
He enjoyed gardening, his grandchildren and animals. He was a member of the Rogue River Valley Grange in Grants Pass.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Harlan (Betty)
Ziegler of Crescent City, Richard (Angie) Ziegler of Grants Pass; a
brother, Wesley Ziegler of Vancouver, Wash.; 10 grandchildren, Michelle
(Tim) O’Toole, Marissa Ziegler, Ricky Ziegler, Nicky Ziegler, Angela
Ziegler, Amber Ziegler, M. Ziegler, Amy Ziegler, Brittany Villa and
Brooke Villa; and numerous great-grandchildren. A son, Harvey Ziegler,
and two brothers, Howard and Raymond Ziegler, died before him.
