Obituary: Helen Bergren-Arthur (Oct. 31, 1926 - Jan. 16, 2010)

Helen Bergren-Arthur, 83, passed away on January 16, 2010 in Medford, Ore. She was born on October 31, 1926, in Mill City, Ore. She was a 13-year resident of Jackson County. Prior to moving to Oregon, Helen lived in Del Norte County for 43 years.  Helen worked at Endert Drug Store for over 20 years. She loved camping, fishing and more importantly, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her son Ed Bergren of Crescent City;  daughters Virginia & husband Robert Plue of Central Point, Ore.; Mary & her husband Michael Taylor of Gold Canyon, Ariz.;  son Clarence & wife Tina Bergren of Springfield, Ore. Brothers Buster Martin of Yuba City, Calif., and Lester Martin of Washington state.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Art Bergren and second husband Willard Arthur; parents Clarence & Lula Martin and step mother Gertrude Martin.

Funeral services will be held at Wier’s Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at 11 a.m., with internment to follow at the Del Norte County Veteran’s Cemetery.

The family requests contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2065 W El Camino Real, Suite C, Moutain View, CA  94040.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
