Henry Hank Westbrook III
Henry Hank Westbrook III, 83, of Smith River, Calif.,  passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013.

He was born to Henry and Roberta Westbrook on July 25, 1930. Hank was part of the fourth generation of Westbrooks to live in Smith River. He attended Smith River grade school, Tamalpias High School, and received a degree in Animal Husbandry from Oregon State University in 1952. At OSU Hank met his beloved wife of 61 years, Beverly. Hank served in the U.S. Air Force after college and was honorably discharged as a first lieutenant in 1962.

Hank and his late brother Robert  “Chopper”  Westbrook had a passion for business. Together they ran Reservation Ranch and Ship Ashore Resort, founded Country Maid Dairy, and participated in several ventures in the timber, Easter Lily bulbs, and real estate industries. Hank was also actively involved in the community fishing derbies benefiting Rowdy Creek Fish Hatchery.

Hank had a love of the outdoors and wildlife. He shared this with family and friends through countless bird hunting and fishing excursions. This love manifested itself over 30 years in an annual fishing trip to the Kenai River in Alaska with his family, close friends and associates.

Hank is survived by his wife Beverly; his three children, Nancy Westbrook (Joe Mercer), Hal Westbrook (Vicki), and Kerry Parker (Wayne); his five grandchildren, Ryan McGovern (Kristina), Bridget Schauer (Jason), Henry  Heath  Westbrook VI, Teal Westbrook, and Tyler Tate; his two great grandchildren, Madison McGovern, and Eli Schauer.
