Jessamine Lee Nail (Nov. 10, 1998 - June 6, 2009)

Our sweet angel, Jessamine Lee Nail, flew up to heaven on June 6, 2009 in Palo Alto, Calif., after a two year battle with cancer.

Jessy was born on November 10th, 1998, in Morristown, Tenn.  She was an honor roll student at Smith River School and was currently in the fifth grade.  She enjoyed going to school and playing with her friends.  She enjoyed writing, drawing, painting, and making crafts.  She was a lover of outdoor activities such as crabbing with her grandparents, fishing with her step-father and brother, and camping with her family and friends. She also enjoyed listening to music, going to the movies, and shopping with mom.

Jessamine was the daughter of Deanna Owen and stepfather Wade Owen.  She is survived by brothers Chase and Blake Owen and step-sisters Dessirae and Ashley. She will be greatly missed by father Richard Lee Nail, her aunts; Christina Shaeffer, Mendy Hinshaw, Michelle Nail, and Ronnie Owen and uncle Tim Shaeffer.

Her maternal grand-parents are Don and Joanne Shaeffer of Brookings, Ore.; and paternal grandmother, Carrie Nail of Morristown, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, James Richard Nail.

Jessy shared many happy moments with her classmates and family friends. She was loved by all who met her, and will surely be missed.
