Obituary: Lois Marie English-Riddle (Aug. 6, 1940 - Dec. 13, 2009) |
Lois Marie English-Riddle, 69, of Medford, Ore., went to heaven on December 13, 2009, after a 15-year battle from strokes, dysphagia, seizures, to finally pneumonia complications.
She was born in Merrill, Ore., on August 6, 1940. Lois graduated from Del Norte High School. She received her degree from Multnomah School of the Bible and her bachelor’s degree in education from Southern Oregon State University. Lois grew up in Crescent City from the age of 4. Later becoming a housewife and mother of two and co-owning a restaurant before continuing her education where she fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. She was much loved by her students, her peers, her community, family and friends. She was a member of Seaside Hospital Pink Ladies and was an active member of Fort Dick Bible Church and Medford First Baptist Church. She had an inner light in her smile that touched everyone who knew her, a generosity of spirit and a great sense of humor. She lived the principles He teaches. Lois is survived by her daughter Sarah Riddle-Fowler, sister Violet Rozeske and her daughters Eileen and Linda. Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2009, 12:00 noon at Wier’s Mortuary Chapel in Crescent City. Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel.
