Obituary: Lorene Joyce Rose (Dec. 9, 1940 – Oct. 22, 2011)

Lorene joined her Heavenly Father on October 22, 2011. She was born December 9, 1940, in San Francisco, to James and Kathryn Gearhart.

She is survived by her sister Barbara Bloise and son Stephen. Sister-in-law Sandy Gearhart. Her fours sons, David (Suzanne) Gearhart of Puyallup, Wash., Claude (Karryl) Rose of Crescent City, Rick (Nanette) Rose of Utah and Brian Rose of Crescent City. Grandchildren Keith, Greg, Mitchell, Katarina, Amy, Bryan, Kathryn, Jaynee, Richard, Robert, Nancy Ann and great-grandchildren as well.

Lorene was a talented and gifted embroider and quilt maker. She enjoyed coloring and searching to find books. While residing in Crescent City for 30 years, she volunteered her services to Coastline Opportunity Thrift Store and rang the bell for American Red Cross. She was a courageous and strong women who raised four boys on her own. Lorene will be remembered as a caring, loving and giving mother, sister and grandmother. She will be greatly missed and will forever live in our hearts.

Graveside services will be held on November 2, 2011, at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow at the Mormon Church located at 1031 A Street.
