Nahun Ruiz went home to be with Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 13, 2009. Nahun was born to Isidro and Ana Maria Ruiz on November 9, 1954, in Mexico, where he grew up.
He moved to Crescent City, when he was 14 years old and graduated from Del Norte High School. Nahun began working in the saw mill at the age of 17 and was a mill worker for 37 years, 28 of those years as a supervisor at Simpson. He attended Redwoods Family Worship Center and Iglesias Pan de Vida on English Lane. Nahun is survived by his wife, Francisca Ruiz, and a son, Pastor Miguel Ruiz, of Crescent City; a daughter, Sherry Ruiz, of Ukiah, Calif.; his mother, Ana Maria Ruiz of Fortuna, Calif.; a brother and a sister as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Isidro Ruiz. Services were held at the Redwoods Family Worship Center on Saturday, May 16, 2009. Interment followed at the IOOF Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
