Nellie was a woman of few or many words — those of you who knew her know what this means. She could be very affectionate or extremely tactless, but she never left you guessing! Nellie was cursed with rheumatoid arthritis that robbed her from living her life as she would have liked to, but her strong sense of survival and tenacious spirit kept her going. When she was able to get around, her joys were the salt of the earth! Time spent with family and friends, walks in the woods or on the beach, sunrises, sunsets, picking berries, smelling flowers, listening to birds singing, late- night Yahtzee or beading her beautiful necklaces.
Nellie is survived by her daughter Ranell; grandsons Anthony and Michael; great-granddaughters Courtney and Stephanie; sisters Letty Hood, Evelyn Manning and Adeline Thomas. There are many other special friends and relatives, too numerous to list, that she dearly treasured! You know who you are. Remember, she never left you guessing! So when you’re making soup, fishing or hunting, working in your garden, reading or telling stories to your kids or grandchildren or just taking in the simple pleasures in life, give her a fond remembrance because this is where you will find her! Did she ever mention that she prefers hand-picked flowers?
Thank you all for touching her life!
