Obituary: Roger N. Taylor Jr. (Sept. 16, 1971 – Oct. 13, 2011)

Roger N. Taylor Jr. died in Porterville, Calif., on October 13, 2011, at 40 years of age. He was born in Porterville on September 16, 1971, to Sheila and Roger Taylor. Roger Jr. graduated from Monache High School in 1989, and Porterville College in 1991. Roger received many academic honors, including student of the year in Biological Science at Porterville College in 1991.

He graduated Humboldt State University in 1994 with Cum Laude Honors. He accepted a full scholarship Doctorate Program from the University of Alabama to study under Dr. George Shaw, a noted genetic scientist in the field of research, and cure of human diseases.

Roger was preceded in death by his mother Sheila Diane (Lynch) Taylor. He is survived by his parents Roger N. Sr. and Theta Taylor of Gasquet. Brothers Joshua (Cari) Taylor, Hiouchi, Edward (Michelle) Stephens  Porterville, Calif., and  Billy F. Stephens, U.S. Army, Fort Drum, N.Y. Nieces  and nephews include Cailly, Claire, Camille, and Caity Taylor, Abigail, Alexandra, Ethan, and Matthew  Stephens. Roger was loved by his many family, and friends. Services provided through Myers Chapel, Porterville, Calif.
