He was born March 14, 1969, in Denver, Colo., to Arba and Christina (Buckmaster) McCullough.
At an early age, he moved to Brookings, where he attended local schools.
In 1989, Russell moved to Florida. After surviving Hurricane Andrew, he decided it was time to move back to the West Coast. He moved to Eagle Point, where he lived until returning to Brookings in 2007.
Russell married Staci Lin (Nicholson) Skillett Oct. 16, 2010, in Brookings.
He enjoyed cars, camping, hiking, kayaking, aquariums and spending time with his family. He was a very fine craftsman. Most of his working life was spent in the auto body business, repairing cars.
Survivors include his wife, Staci of Brookings; daughters River Elise McCullough and Crystal Rain McCullough of Brookings; stepdaughters Cori Lin Skillett and Alyssa Belle Skillett of Brookings; brother Arba Jay McCullough of Oklahoma; mother and stepfather Chris and Don Wilson of Medford. Russell was preceded in death by his father and his sister.
A celebration of Russell’s life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Brookings Harbor Christian Church, 777 Fifth St. in Brookings.
A reception will follow at the Seascape Regional Center, 98158 W. Benham Lane in Harbor. Inurnment will be at a later date at Siskiyou Memorial Park in Medford.
