Ruth Dorothy Bryan, 73, surrounded by many family members, went peacefully from this life to begin her new journey with her Lord in the early morning hours of May 23, 2013. She was a resident of Crescent City for the past 23 years. Ruth worked for Sutter Coast as a home health/hospice aide for 15 years before retiring in 2000.
She touched many lives. Ruth loved living in Crescent City, where she enjoyed tending to her beautiful flowers and seeing the many varieties of birds that visited her feeders. She enjoyed taking her two dogs, Princess and Junior, to the beach for long walks and collecting agates.
On the weekends, she usually could be seen going to the various yard sales around town, where she enjoyed running into old friends and making new ones. Ruthie never met a stranger. Her crazy personality and heart full of love are what made her who she was. She was a member of the Cornerstone Assembly of God Church.
Ruth was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and her father, Bill O’Donnell Sr.
She leaves behind her three children whom she loved dearly: LouAnn Tarbell of Selma, Ore.; Laurie (Joe) Conway of Friday Harbor, Wash.; and Michael Harvey of Crescent City. Ruth will be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Grace O’Donnell of Homedale, Idaho; her siblings, Lynn (Jim) Hardin of Lafayette, La.; Nita (Gary) Rasmussen of Homedale, Idaho; and Bill (Lynn) O’Donnell of Lake, Calif. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
Ruth’s family will have a private memorial service. Gone but never forgotten.
