Virginia Rose Hatley, 87, passed away on Feb. 11, 2013, in Crescent City. She was born in Berkeley on May 16, 1925.
She and her husband, Harry, and three daughters moved to Crescent City from Fresno in 1950. While raising their three daughters they worked alongside each other when they started a TV repair business, later bringing cable television, Del Norte Cable Vision, into this area. They later sold the business and retired back to Fresno to be closer to relatives in that area.
Virginia’s husband passed away in 1989 and she moved back to Crescent City about seven years ago with her constant companion, Georgie, her beloved cocker spaniel, to be near her daughters after her health started failing her.
Virginia is survived by her three daughters, Sharon and her husband Michael Mathews, Roberta and husband Byron Wilson and Linda Hatley; grandsons, Anthony and wife Leslie Beasley, David Beasley, Shane and wife Sherie Theuerkauf, and Robbie Bergquist; granddaughters, Dona and Nicole; great-granddaughter Lacy and husband Josh Cook; great-grandson, Shawn Theuerkauf; great-great-grandson, David Allen McQuigg; great-great-granddaughter, Kaitlynn Hope McQuigg; and Julie Hannah Cook and several nieces and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Claud and Irene Morris; husband, Robert Harold (Harry) Hatley; great-granddaughter Julie Krystal Beasley; sisters, Laverne and husband Bus Boutz, Dorothy and husband Alvin Giacomini; brother, Alan and wife Fawn Morris; and nephew Alan and wife Susie Morris.
Virginia loved and enjoyed the company of her family and friends and was always ready for a game of pinochle. We will miss her very much.
