Beegle was a one of a kind character and those who knew him, loved him. He was sometimes sassy, sometimes sweet but always a good friend. He was there to listen, lend a helping hand, share a laugh or enjoy a martini. He would give you the shirt off of his back and make sure you had shoes to match (preferably custom Nikes, but we can’t all be quite so awesome like Beeg). He didn’t simply live life, he truly enjoyed it. The conversations were rich, the food and drinks plentiful and the good times were guaranteed. His spirit will live on in the colorful memories we shared of our dear BeegDog. Beegle loved to ride his Harley and travel the open road. At the time of his death, he was on his way to Laconia, New Hampshire, for the rally there as part of his cross country ride.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ruth Beegle, and his brother Dan Beegle. He is survived by his brother, Mike Beegle of Fresno, Calif.; his sister, Barbara Carlise of Beatty, Nev.; his step-sister, Delora Shuman of Fresno, Calif.; several nieces and nephews; and his much-loved dog “Moose.”
There will be a celebration of Beegle’s life on Saturday July 13, 2013, 1 - 4 p.m. at the VFW Hall 810 “H” Street Crescent City, CA 95531. Please bring a potluck dish to share and wear a Hawaiian shirt in remembrance.
Beegle’s military career in the United States Air Force was to be a formative cauldron for the rest of his life. His missions into enemy territory to retrieve sensitive Air Force equipment and the remains of our brothers was a major driver of his passion for veterans and their care after their combat sacrifices. His practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker had a large component of these veterans. This caring passion for veterans also permeated every single relationship he had with his friends. Beegle was definitely not a fair-weather friend. His friendship is and will be missed by all of his friends.
