Ronald Gene Gaddis, 56, passed away at his home in Central Point on February 5, 2010, after battling a long illness.

Ron was born to John and Peggy Gaddis on July 3, 1953, in Crescent City, where he was a 53-year resident before moving to Oregon.

Obituaries: Bob Wolfinbarger (June 22, 1938 - Feb. 4, 2010)

Bob Wolfinbarger died February 4, 2010, after a short fight with cancer.

Born June 22, 1938, in Chino, he grew up around cattle ranching and learned to drive trucks and tractors at a very young age.  Bob joined the military in the 1950's and proudly served in a motor pool unit in occupied Berlin, Germany.  It was there that he met his wife of 48 years, Edith.  After the military, Bob drove trucks as a profession until he moved to Del Norte County in 1966.  While in Del Norte, Bob had a goat farm, a pet shop and zoo, worked in the logging industry, commercial fished, line cooked at restaurants and had a landscape business.  Bob is best remembered by many Del Norte residents as the high school custodian, where he worked for over 20 years.

Nellie Mae Spencer, 84, passed away on February 8, 2010, in Crescent City. She was born on July 5, 1925, in Emmett, Idaho, to Herbert and Mildred Marvin. She was a 56-year resident of Del Norte County, making her home in Crescent City. Nellie was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church. She had worked in a deli in Klamath Falls before moving to Del Norte and was known as a great cook. Nellie also loved crocheting.

Obituaries: Marvin “Bill” Lewis Neal (June 30, 1938 - Feb. 2, 2010)

Marvin “Bill” Lewis Neal, 71, passed away on February 2, 2010, in Crescent City. He was born on June 30, 1938, in San Francisco. Bill was a 58-year resident of Del Norte County, having attended local schools and graduating from Del Norte High School.

Bill was very active during his lifetime, he was a past member of the Del Norte Sheriff’s Search and Rescue and assisted during the 1964 tidal wave. He loved horses and had competed with the Del Norte Horseman Association and won many awards. Through the Del Norte Recreation Department, Bill enjoyed archery and also won many awards. Some of the other pastimes he enjoyed were making model cars and working on electric trains. Bill will be remembered as a better than average pool player. He was a quiet man, who loved the outdoors and spent over 40 years as a landscape gardener.
