 Robert Edgar Allen Robert Edgar Allen, 78, a life long resident of Crescent City, went home to be with our Lord on May 27, 2010, following complications from a 48-year life learning experience with diabetes. He was born on December 31, 1932, to Edgar & Charlotte M. Allen. Robert’s career life covered many different facets: the logging industry as choker setter, installed lat/plaster and drywall, painter until he became co-owner of B&W Sales which was primarily a motorcycle dealership. He was a member of Redwood Scramblers Motorcycle Club, which later turned into the Rattlesnake Enduro, which became a national event. He loved racing and riding motorcycles, teaching his sons about motorcycles. Robert’s short lesson for his sons: “when in doubt, gas it.” His hobbies included the History Channel, boxing, family trips camping, and he was passionate for practicing art work in the form of drawings and later acrylic paintings. In 1967 after being lead to Christ, he and his family attended for many years at the Smith River Baptist Church. |

Leone Steele deLong, 90, passed away on June 5, 2010, in Crescent City. She was born on February 28, 1920, in Windsor, Calif. Leone was a 30-year resident of Del Norte County moving here from Sonoma County. She served her country during WW II with the U.S. Navy. Leone attended Santa Rosa Junior College before going to college in New York. She found humor in all things and laughed readily. Leone is survived by her children Kathy & husband Rudy Hammack and Ray Steele deLong. Grandchildren Jeanne Morgan, Julie Hammack, Justin deLong, Rachel deLong and their mother Foxine deLong and Kenten Brannon. |
