Susan E. Williamson (Aug. 29, 1947 – July 11, 2011) |
Susan E. Williamson, affectionately known as Silly Susie, owner of Silly Susie’s Ice Cream, passed away early Monday morning, July 11, 2011. She enjoyed being involved in many organizations and activities such as youth soccer, the Light House Quilt Guild, CR Choir, donating to Feed the Children and last year donating to the Del Norte High School music department. She also applied countless hours of community service cleaning up the front lawn of the high school after lunch to a local senior organization, and in her spare time she rescued many different animals in need. In years past she was very active in the Ladies Auxiliary at PBSP, where her late husband was employed. She also participated in the All American Sweethearts Saddle Club, was a Brownie leader for Girl Scouts, an amazing artist and the best wife and mother she could be. Most recently she opened Silly Susie’s Ice Cream, she truly loved making friends with so many people she met with the truck and the joy she brought to the kids who knew her and called her often. She was predeceased by her husband Corbitt (Corky) Williamson. Survived by daughters Candi Williamson, Melanie Reuss, Holly Williamson, son Shawn Williamson, sister Linda Marder and brother Doug Wiser and extended family Deborah and Robert Cole and their many children. Memorial services will be held on July 23, 2011, at the Mormon Church at 1 p.m. Services will be open to the public.
