Beard, Abbey grab firsts at karate tourney
 Beard, Abbey (). Matt Beard swept the awards field during the Cobra and Butter-fly Invitational Karate Tourna-ment in Fortuna. Beard garner-ed first places in Forms, Weapons and Fighting in the Brown Belt Division, representing Tsunami Kenpo Karate Club for Crescent City. Tom Abbey won a first in the 18-and-over Fighting class. |
