Charity benefit for animal shelter Sat.

Cause for the Paws, a charity concert benefitting Curry County Animal Shelter in Gold Beach, will be at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Tolowa Event Center at Lucky 7 Casino in Smith River.

Scheduled to appear are comedian Tom Howard and his comedy troupe, which has been seen on Comedy Central and HBO; Colgate Country Showdown local winners Scott Perry and Aaron Roberts; Oregon State Fair Talent Competition winner Stephanie La Torre and her husband, Tony La Torre, who will perform his “Heart of a Legend” tribute to Elvis Presley; as well as performances by Mary Ann Hague, Lighthouse Repertory Theatre and Brookings-Harbor Community Theater.

Tickets cost $25 per person and are available at Wright’s Custom Framing in Brookings, Gold Beach Books in Gold Beach and Del Norte Office Supply in Crescent City and Lucky 7 Casino in Smith River.

The venue is at Highway 101 and North Indian Road, Smith River. The event is sponsored by Lucky 7 and Crescent Sound Entertainment.
