North Coast Redwood Interpretive Association hosts an afternoon of dunes exploration and education Sunday with California State Parks Ranger Dick Goss.
Called "Hidden Ponds & Habitat 4-mile Hike," the walk winds through lesser-visited areas of the northernmost part of the park.
Participants can assemble at 12:30 p.m. at Tolowa Dunes State Park Visitor Center to enjoy a cup of organic coffee and browse the nature store. The hike meets at 1 p.m. with car-pooling to the trailhead.
Wear long-sleeved pants and shirts, and sturdy walking shoes, and bring drinking water, snacks, sunscreen and insect repellent.
