Eleanor Dorothy Eslick, 84, died August 31, 2007, in Crescent City. She was born April 20, 1923 in Los Angeles.
Eleanor had been a Del Norte County resident for the past 30 years. She was a true homemaker; her family was her life. She will be remembered as "Grandma Fudgie." Eleanor loved to make and share her world famous chocolate chip cookies.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Bob Merriweather; son and daughter-in-law, William Jr. and Maureen Eslick; son, Robert Eslick; granddaughters, Carolyn Eacret, Charlott Baker and Cyndi Acosta; great-grandchildren, Nicolyn, Nisha and Natahna Wood, Brenton, Brantly and Bobby Cobb, Alexandra, Christopher and Alexis Acosta; and her companion and best friend Princess, her toy poodle.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Wier's Mortuary Chapel. Interment to follow at the I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery in Crescent City.
The family prefers contributions be made in Eleanor's memory to the American Cancer Society, 1301 Northcrest Drive, Crescent City, CA 95531.
