Express Fitness has changed a lot since opening five years ago says owner, Anita Stefko-Joy.
Starting out with a 30-minute hydraulic circuit, which is a great strength, and cardiovascular workout, I could see that we needed to offer more variety for our members. Since that time, in addition to the circuit, we've added cardiovascular machines, free weights, yoga, belly dance and tai chi chih classes. This has really helped members get better results. We also added a metabolic and cardiovascular fitness analyzer that tells the individual how many calories to eat to lose weight, and how to improve fitness levels. We've added a larger stretching area. And we added spa services featuring our Spa System that surrounds you with light, heat, color, aroma, massage, and sound with the addition of body wraps and airbrush tans.
As an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, Group Instructor and Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant, I'm committed to offering safe and effective workouts. At the present I'm working towards my certification as a Clinical Exercise Specialist. I'm also a YogaFit Certified and Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher as well as a Certified Pilates instructor. Our Pilates program is just getting started, we'll be offering more Pilates in the future.
We're a smaller more personalized fitness center where members can workout according to their schedule, not ours. It's a comfortable environment and we have a lot of fun. I'm very thankful to our members for allowing us to support them in their efforts to become healthier individuals.
