Participants can sign up for more than 60 workshops and trips over a three-day stretch that will focus on the Northcoast's animals and resources.
The Ninth Annual Aleutian Goose Festival runs March 30 -April 1. Registration costs $40 and includes receptions, presentations and events and trips with no listed fees. Children under age 16 pay no registration fee.
The event features field trips with guides and scientists. It also offers special trips, such as "The Magic of Pelagic," a $90, daylong trip on an ocean charter vessel to see pelagic birds about 20 miles from the coast. Other activities include bird-watching, kayaking and hiking.
The Wings and Whales Trade Fair at the Cultural Center on Front Street will showcase birds and marine mammals, gifts, equipment, arts and crafts and other items.
