The Del Norte Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution showed its support of American veterans Nov. 10 in the Veterans Day Parade. Daughters marched carrying signs quoting the Bill of Rights in tribute to the veterans who have protected these rights for all Americans.
From left, back row, Rachel Malone, Shari Ortega, Katie Gavin, Christine Long, Wendy Malone, Liz Freeman, Paulette Eneim, Deb Snodgrass, Kathy Alexander and Ann Ramirez. Holding the sign in front are Brandon Jones and Katy Malone.
Regent Katie Gavin said, “This was the first time for the Del Norte Chapter to march in the Veterans Day parade showing the gratitude the local chapter feels toward our veterans.”
She added that the chapter hopes to march in all Veterans Day parades from this point forward and the chapter hopes to see this significant parade grow in our area.
During the parade, member Ann Ramirez was asked why she was marching. Her response was, “Because of my dad, and my husband and brother and all of the wonderful veterans in the United States of America.”
