Rene Shanle-Hutzell talks about Stout Grove for a promotional video designed to attract more visitors to the area. Submitted More and more people are discovering a Del Norte County Gem: Stout Grove.
This majestic grove of redwoods is the number-one tourist attraction in this area, according to Bob Berkowitz of the Crescent City/Del Norte County Visitors Bureau.
“When most local hotel managers are asked what the most frequently asked question is by visitors to our area,” said Berkowitz, “the answer was that they wanted directions to Stout Grove.”
In view of this overwhelming interest in Stout Grove, Berkowitz
contacted Ralph Bowman, a videographer from Central Point, Ore., who
just happened to be putting together a video series called, “The Mystic
Corridor.” For his project he envisioned two- to three-minute segments
that would showcase visitor attractions from Crater Lake National Park
to Redwood National Park. The purpose of the videos would be to engage
travelers to come here and stay longer.
Recently Bowman and his crew were here shooting footage to be used in
the video. To guide the video visitors on this tour, Rene
Shanle-Hutzell of Bi-Coastal Radio, was asked to voice the script and
serve as the “on camera” personality.
Once the video is edited, it will be available to public TV stations
on the Interstate 5 corridor in both Oregon and Washington, and will be
available for viewing on YouTube and at www.exploredelnorte.com.
