“California’s nonprofits are how people in California organize to care for one another, to drive social innovation, to create the conditions for prosperity and to stand up for values,” said Jan Masaoka, the new executive director of the California Association of Nonprofits (CAN).

Del Norte nonprofit organizations are invited to meet with Jan as she is touring the state to learn more about each region’s unique needs, strengths, challenges and creative innovations. Del Norte County is home to over 100 tax-exempt organizations doing everything from providing medical care, to supporting the arts, education, social services and economic development.

Jan will be at the Family Resource Center, 494 Pacific Ave., from 2:30-4:30 p.m., on April 24. She will share her perspectives on issues impacting organizations throughout California and her future plans for CAN.

For more information call Amy Jester at (707) 442-2993 or visit www.northerncalifornianonprofits.org.

CAN’s work has a strong history of advocating for nonprofits with the legislature, government administrators and philanthropy. It brings the voices of nonprofits throughout the state to the public dialogue and wants to hear from organizations on the North Coast.

The Northern California Association of Nonprofits organized the event.
