The Curry/Del Norte Orchestra Guild’s Spring Concert Series will feature shows in Gold Beach, Brookings, and Crescent City.
The Crescent City concert will be April 29 at 3 p.m. at Elk Valley Rancheria, 2332 Howland Hill Road.
Admission for these concerts is $10 for adults. Students will be admitted for free.

The spring concerts will feature a variety of musical selections including works from the baroque, classical and romantic periods as well as some contemporary selections.
The major work on the program is the “Karelia Suite,” a collection of orchestral pieces written by the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius.
Christie Lynn Rust, widely respected teacher and soloist, will perform Giuseppe Torelli’s “Concerto in D For Trumpet and String Orchestra.”
Brookings residents Sue Gold and Charlotte Heatherly, well-known for their vocal talents, will perform French composer Leo Delibes’ beautiful “Flower Duet” from the opera “Lakme.” Additional selections will include works by George Gershwin, Jean Gabriel Marie, Giacomo Meyerbeer, and Stephen Flaherty.
The Curry/Del Norte Orchestra, directed by Gold Beach resident and retired Oregon music educator Gary DeRoest, is sponsored by the Curry/Del Norte Orchestra Guild, associate members and Southwestern Oregon Community College.
Orchestra members are all local musicians who volunteer their time and talents to make this orchestra possible. Participants come from the Oregon communities of Ophir, Gold Beach, Brookings, and Cave Junction, and California communities of Smith River, Gasquet, Crescent City and Kneeland.
